A message from our Chairperson

It is my honour to assume the role of Chairperson of the Board for Health Providers Alliance Northern Territory’s inaugural year. Within the new and motivated committee is a range of skills and health disciplines to represent our members.

We are motivated to establish our strategic plan and host events that better integrate health providers and improve the patient journey.

The alliance’s Executive Officer, Cilla Thomas, brings significant experience, drive and enthusiasm to the Health Providers Alliance of the NT. Our board is also staffed with experience and skills that ensures the Health Providers Alliance of the NT will operate in the best interests of our individual members and organisations.

Our history

Health Providers Alliance NT was incorporated as an association in March 2016.

The organisation has grown from its original formation as the General Practice Network of the NT, through to the Associate Membership of the NT Medicare Local to its current structure as an incorporated association.

What we do

The HPANT is the only group in the NT that represents all its primary healthcare providers. Improving the patient journey is at the core of what we do.

A message from our Chief Executive Officer

Our organisation begins a new journey as we change our name to Health Providers Alliance NT. We’ve had discussions with some of you around your needs and what you expect from us as the only representative body for medical practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals in the Northern Territory and so, we decided it was time to make some changes. But it’s not just about changing our name, our website and our logo – it’s about better reflecting the work that we do and having a stronger focus on you; our members.

With these changes, I look forward to working with the board to implement our strategy, engage our members and recognise our sponsors for their contribution to our success.

But what stays the same, is our mission is as clear as ever. As the Chief Executive Officer, I am committed to helping deliver our vision, mission and values—every day, with every decision.

We will continue to represent all our members no matter the size, location or specialism of our members, each voice matters to me equally.

About our role

Our scope is Territory-wide, and our role is to support and connect medical practitioners, nurses and allied health practitioners to deliver care to their community.

We do that by hosting professional development activities, networking and social events, inviting members’ input on topic working groups and advocating for optimum NT outcomes at national decision forums.
