Compass Teaching and Learning Conference

The Compass Teaching & Learning Conference is Northern Territory PHN’s premier professional development and networking event for primary health care professionals.

The theme for this year’s conference is Integrated Care: Solutions & Opportunities. The two-day conference will showcase successes and opportunities in providing integrated models of care, particularly in rural and remote settings.

Compass will feature relevant clinical updates, practical workshops and current health reform updates, based around the following thematic areas:

  • Supporting Aboriginal Health Practitioners in regional and remote settings
  • Integrating care across government and non-government practices
  • Solutions that support inter-disciplinary care
  • Sustainable models of integrated primary care
  • Inter-agency approaches through the health and justice sectors
  • Digital health reform in the NT
  • Integration across maternal and child health.

Who should attend?

Practitioners of all specialities – doctors, allied health professionals, Aboriginal health practitioners, nurses and practice staff – anyone who is interested in learning and sharing their professional knowledge of primary health care in their regional or remote setting.

Compass is a free event for all delegates.

NT PHN is committed to the ongoing support of health professionals living in remote areas. Remote NT delegates who reside outside of Darwin and Palmerston are eligible for a grant of up to two nights' accommodation at the DoubleTree. Check your eligibility: www.doctorconnect.gov.au/locator.

Compass is unable to fund delegates’ flights and travel expenses, or support costs for delegates’ family members.


Health Professional of the Year Awards

In 2018, the Health Professional of the Year Awards will again coincide with the Compass Teaching and Learning Conference.

The Health Professional of the Year Awards recognise health professionals working in the NT who have made an outstanding contribution to health and wellbeing in their community. The awards will be presented at the Compass Gala Dinner on Friday, 23 November 2018.
