The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Maternity Emergency Care course is designed to up-skill Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers/Practitioners to provide emergency care for pregnant women and their babies in the remote and isolated setting.
Course Delivery
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Maternity Emergency Care course consists of the following components:
- pre-course reading - CRANAplus Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Maternity Emergency Care Course Manual
- attendance at a three-day face-to-face workshop consisting of lectures, skill stations and practical based scenarios
- an on-course multi-choice quiz.
- an individual scenario-based clinical skills assessment.
On successful completion participants will be awarded:
- A CRANAplus Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Maternity Emergency Care Certificate
Please note: The course is designed to meet the learning needs of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers/Practitioners. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners are also eligible to attend any of the following multi-disciplinary courses; Remote Emergency Care, Maternity Emergency Care, Practical Skills
