Blended Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace
Follow up Face-to-Face Training Workshop (Part 2)
Registration open to pharmacists/pharmacy assistants, as well as all other health professionals and anyone working in and/or have an interest in mental health. The facilitator will tailor case studies to align with the audience members’ background.
Designed for workplaces that require increased flexibility in the delivery of training for their staff members, the Blended Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace course is a combination of online-eLearning module (Part 1) and a half day of follow-on face-to-face training (Part 2).
The course teaches managers, supervisors and individuals how to assist a co-worker who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. However course participants will learn mental health first aid skills that can be applied to help any adult. The facilitator is a qualified health professional (pharmacist) and will also present case studies that apply to assisting patients.
Course participants first complete the interactive self-paced eLearning component that presents an overview of mental health problems and mental health crises. The follow-on face-to-face training allows participants the opportunity to revise and consolidate skills in a group environment, and to address mental health problems in the workplace in more depth. Successful completion of both parts is necessary to receive a Certificate of Completion.
Enrolment into this training is a two-step process. Enrolment using this form or by contacting PSA will secure a spot in the follow-up face-to-face training (Part 2). Upon receipt of your registration form for Part 2, PSA will contact you regarding the process for enrolling into the online-eLearning module (Part 1). Part 1 is delivered externally, by Mental Health First Aid Australia, at an additional cost.
