Join a Facebook LIVE event presented by Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM) and the Victorian HIV and Hepatitis Integrated Training And Learning (VHHITAL) program where an expert panel will answer your questions regarding PrEP. This event is open to all clinicians, community health providers and interested parties and will run live for approx. 30-45 mins.

From 1 April 2018, TENOFOVIR + EMTRICITABINE, used as HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) which are highly-effective drugs proven to reduce HIV transmission, have been listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) in Australia. Any doctor, general practitioner and endorsed nurse practitioner (as within their scope of practice and relevant state and territory legislation prescribing rights) are now able to prescribe PrEP. Community pharmacies are able to dispense PrEP, and it is expected that there will be increased community demand for the prescription of PrEP as it is subsidised to an Australian resident who holds a current Medicare card.
