Infection prevention and control guidance
Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) and its members supported the development of infection prevention and control guidance for allied health practices by the Department of Health. Separate groups of professional associations contributed to reports and checklists to guide allied health practitioners and reduce virus transmission rates while working in the context of COVID-19.

Rehabilitation of patients with COVID-19
The World Health Organization has developed a 7-module course on rehabilitation of patients with COVID-19 as part of its free training series on Clinical Management of COVID-19.
Modules address the varied rehab needs of COVID-19 patients including cognitive impairment, physical deconditioning, respiratory impairment, swallow impairment, communication impairment and challenges in completing activities of daily living. Techniques for rehabilitation also are addressed. Each module lasts 20-30 minutes.
Telehealth guidance for allied health professionals
HPANT has produced a guide and several associated resources addressing technical, privacy and security, and clinical assessment aspects of telehealth for allied health professionals . These resources are intended to provide an overall introduction to telehealth and are to be used in conjunction with profession-specific guidance developed by individual professions.

The Australian Digital Health Agency has developed new information sheets and online guidance to support health practitioners seeking to find out more about My Health Record. Visit the dedicated health section for your profession on the My Health Record website for videos and other resources.
NDIS Commission short course for disability workers
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Quality and Safeguards Commission has developed a free online short course to help workers in the disability sector to better support people with disability.
The short course is called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ and covers an introduction to the NDIS, the role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and roles and responsibilities under the Code of Conduct including requirements related to human rights, respect and risk. The module takes around 90 minutes to complete.
palliAGED is an online resource for health and allied health professionals to easily find evidence and practice tips to support older Australians at the end of their life and their families and carers. The Practice Centre provides links to, and information about, evidence-based tools and resources that you can use in practice. The Evidence Centre provides the best-available information to help answer clinical questions.

CareSearch provides dedicated sections for allied health practitioners, and includes eLearning resources, resources for how evidence can inform practice, and resources for people in your care.
